Failure review: send us a worn lining
Send photos of a lining that wore through, cracked or came off. Our team tells you the likely cause and what to change — whether or not you buy from us.
How it works
- Send photos and the details below through the inquiry form — choose “A free review of a worn or failed lining”.
- Our team looks at the photos and the duty.
- Within two business days (GMT+8) you receive a short written note: the likely cause, what to change, and what we would need to quote a replacement.
What we usually see
| What you see | Likely cause | What usually helps |
|---|---|---|
| Worn through in a band or patch; tiles elsewhere intact | Wear concentrated by velocity or impact angle; lining too thin there | Thicker or 95 % tiles in that zone; check flow and geometry |
| Tiles gone, adhesive left on the steel | Adhesive overheated, chemically attacked or aged | Weld-on tiles, or an adhesive rated for the duty |
| Tiles gone, clean steel underneath | Surface preparation or bonding at installation | Installation procedure; weld-on tiles in critical zones |
| Tiles cracked or chipped, pieces missing | Impact from lumps on bare ceramic | Rubber-ceramic panels at the impact point |
| Fine cracks or spalling across many tiles | Thermal shock — rapid heating or cooling | Review the temperature cycle; alumina may be the wrong material |
| Ceramic intact, rubber torn or separated | Rubber grade or bond too weak for the impact | Better rubber compound; check the bond |
| Joints eroded, tile edges standing proud | Joint material softer than the tiles | Tighter joints, interlocking or hexagonal tiles |
A review is an informed opinion based on your photos and information. It is not a laboratory failure analysis or a design approval.
What to send
- PhotosThe whole area and close-ups of the failure, with something for scale
- LocationWhere it is installed; a sketch helps
- DutyMaterial handled, temperature and how it changes, impact
- HistoryHow long the lining lasted, and anything that changed
- Current liningMaterial, thickness and fixing method
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no charge and no obligation. If a replacement makes sense, we quote it separately.
How long does it take?
A written note within two business days (GMT+8) of receiving the photos. If something is missing, we ask within one business day.
Do you need the failed parts?
Photos are usually enough. If they are not, we will say what else would help.
What if the problem is not the lining?
We will tell you. Sometimes the cause is flow, installation or temperature rather than the ceramic.
A lining that keeps failing?
Send the photos. We tell you why it failed and what we would change.
